Moiz Dawoodbhai is senior director of impact investing and accelerator management strategy. He is responsible for the enterprise, sustainment, & impact strategy with a focus on socially responsible investments to increase access to capital for underrepresented entrepreneurs and create greater connectivity to the capital sources. He also leads the company's impact investing strategies in support of the company's Sustained Action for Racial Equity (SARE) strategy, including the Northwestern Mutual Black Founder Accelerator', and building an eco-system of venture funds focused on investing in underrepresented founders.
Moiz joined Northwestern Mutual in January 2017 as senior manager of innovation responsible for creating customer experiences and engagement models in client services. Most recently, he served as the assistant director in strategic investing and corporate strategy where he managed a $200M corporate venture fund, chartered to invest in fintech and digital health startups. In his previous role, he formed and supervised a portfolio of forty startups and five limited partner commitments, mentoring and monitoring portfolio firms, while championing new opportunities and eliminating barriers to capital.
Prior to joining NM, Moiz was a product innovation manager at Advocate Aurora Healthcare, co-creating new patient experiences by partnering with digital health startups. Moiz also held product and business development roles at Lakeshore Medical Clinic, Sherwin Williams, and Best Buy. He holds an MBA from Michigan State University. He and his wife reside in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They enjoy spending time with their son and traveling.
