Alberta Johnson
Alberta Johnson is Founder & CEO of People Experts LLC. She has an extensive career in executive management and has directed overall operations for various organizations in areas of human resources and DEI. She has dedicated her career to balancing inequities and civil rights. She’s held leadership roles in the public, private, non-profit and government sectors including the City of Chicago, YMCA, Chinese American Service League and the Chicago Lawyer’s Committee for Civil Rights.
She has created human resources and DEI departments and initiatives, impacted culture change, and developed best in class organizations. As a thought leader, she has served as an advisor and consultant to executive leadership. She was an instrumental in drafting the first maternity leave policy and the first Diversity & EEO plan for the City of Chicago and the first transgender policy for the YMCA.
Alberta holds a BA, MBA and MPA and has served on the Board of Directors for IL SHRM, Chicago SHRM and the National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA). She currently serves as a Veteran Ambassador and Mentor for SHRM and as VP of the Friends of Pediatrics for the Children’s Hospital University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC).
