Alex Katz
Alex Katz works directly with hospital systems and other healthcare providers to create medical offices that best meet their facility needs and, in turn, make the best treatment accessible to more people.
Alex has a knack for reimagining the box. For his first healthcare development, he turned a shuttered one-story restaurant in north suburban Deerfield into a two-story medical office building for Northwestern Medicine, designed and built to its specifications. Similarly, he repurposed a closed banquet hall in southwest suburban Burbank into a primary care center for Advocate Health Care. Important for patients, both facilities boast ample parking. Important for clients: By converting existing structures and using his deep network of top-tier consultants, he was able to reduce construction costs and compress the work timetable.
He has also worked from the ground up to deliver built-to-suit projects in the Chicago market, including a 15,000-square-foot medical office building in the northern suburbs and a 20,000-square-foot medical office building within the city for Chicago-based regional hospital systems. And he’s now scouting for projects elsewhere in the Midwest and in Farpoint’s newest market, the U.S. Southeast.
Alex, who has a BA in political science from Lehigh University, and his family live in River North in Chicago. He’s also a sneaker head, with a collection that dates back to the Chicago Bulls glory years in the 1990s.
