Cy Rangel

Project Executive - Capital Asset Management, Purdue University

Cy Rangel, a 1983 Purdue University graduate in construction management, has been involved with COAA National since 2017. With 40 years of experience as a CM, Specialty Contractor, and now Owner, he brings a wealth of experience in healthcare, senior living, large commercial construction, and retail projects throughout the USA.

 

As a Project Executive for Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, Cy has managed numerous studies for the university and has recently completed a $108M healthcare project for the school’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Cy’s current project for the College of Liberal Arts is a $46M dollar major restoration to the university’s oldest building, University Hall which dates back to 1880. The 3-year project also includes renovations to other buildings.

 

Cy also works as an adjunct professor for Northwestern University’s McCormick School of Engineering Master of Science in Project Management as well as the MS in Executive Management for Design and Construction programs in Evanston, Illinois. At Northwestern, Cy teaches Advanced Construction Business Strategy and Construction Management. At Purdue University, Cy has taught in the construction management undergraduate program teaching courses in Project Management, Concrete, Soils, as well as the senior Construction Capstone course.

 

Cy earned his Master of Science from Purdue University in construction management in 2017. His thesis was entitled How are Contractors Defining Design Assist. Cy and his wife of 40 years, Diana, have 3 grown daughters and are currently enjoying their first granddaughter.
