Jacqueline Umbles, MBA
Jacqueline Umbles is a dedicated Chicago native and public servant, currently making significant contributions in the City of Chicago's Department of Procurement Services (DPS) within the Public Affairs Unit. In her role, she leads community engagement initiatives and educational programs that enhance understanding of the City’s procurement
process, ensuring transparent and equitable access to contracting opportunities for all vendors.
Among her notable achievements is the development of streamlined educational programming designed to empower the vendor community. Jacqueline also plays a crucial role in planning and managing two major procurement contracting events each year, providing platforms for entrepreneurs to connect, network, and pitch their businesses to
government agencies and partner organizations.
With over 30 years of diverse experience across various industries, Jacqueline has cultivated expertise in managing inclusive relationships, outreach programs, corporate communications, and training initiatives both domestically and internationally. She collaborates extensively with internal and external stakeholders, contributing to important forums
such as the Government Procurement Compliance Forum and the Affirmative Action Advisory Board.
Before her current role, Jacqueline held management positions at the Chicago Teachers’ Pension Fund, Chicago Transit Authority, and AMR/American Airlines/Sabre Group, where she designed corporate communications and training programs for Fortune 500 companies. Her areas of focus included management development, diversity, equity,
inclusion, soft skills training, and performance management.
