Kevin Smith is a Chicago Architect whose work for the past eight years has focused on youth guidance, STEM education and the design and fabrication of K-8 workshops and makerspaces.  As acting program director of BitSpace, Chicago's premier youth only makerspace, Kevin has facilitated summer camp and enrichment programming for over 2000 students. Since the foundation of Bitspace's design build program, Smith has also worked with over 30 schools across the Midwest in the design and development of build outs, professional development and curriculum focused on MakerEd.  Through the analysis and implementation of this portfolio of projects, Kevin’s work has culminated in the development of a flat-pack furniture line dedicated to the makerspace vernacular in youth learning environments known as BitSpace Builds.
