CKL Engineers, LLC, stands out as one such firm under the exceptional leadership of Mae Whiteside Williams, P.E. Mae is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of CKL Engineers, LLC, a civil and environmental engineering firm operating nationally. Under her guidance, the firm has grown from a one-person venture into a multi-disciplinary engineering and construction powerhouse, managing critical projects like Deerpath Bridge and South Lake Shore Drive Relocation, including serving as a prime consultant for various municipalities, including the Illinois Tollway and Public Building Commission. With over twenty years of construction administration, her journey underscores the transformative impact of her work in Chicago's infrastructure. She is a notable figure in engineering and served as Chicago Build’s Women in Construction Webinar Panelist in 2021. Recognized by Crain’s Chicago Business as a 2021 Notable Women in Construction and Design, Mae currently serves on the Cook County Commission on Small Business & Supplier Diversity and Board member of Airport Consultants Council. She earned her bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology and received a Professional Achievement Award from her alma.
