As the Executive Director of NeighborScapes, Omari Moore is committed to fostering relationships that drive growth and healing. Since moving to Chicago from Ohio to attend the University of Chicago, Omari has worked in youth development, tech education and housing. His journey with NeighborScapes began in 2014 through AmeriCorps as a New Sector Fellow with the Chicago Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights. Omari later became the second Community Building Fellow in NeighborScapes' first Innovation House, where he lived and worked within the community until becoming the Executive Director in 2019.
As a dedicated leader, Omari focuses on community engagement and nonprofit management, leading efforts to promote community development and quality housing. He believes in recognizing the immense possibilities within every individual, emphasizing that with the right opportunities, anyone can transcend limitations set by socioeconomic or racial backgrounds. Through strategic planning and organizational leadership, Omari strives to create meaningful social change, advocating for a more inclusive and equitable future.
