Inclusionary Housing Program Manager
Ricardo Lopez manages the City of Chicago’s Inclusionary Housing Program (the Affordable Requirements Ordinance), which designates that new market-rate multifamily housing must set aside a percentage of units as affordable. In this role, Ricardo contributes to a key strategy in the City’s commitment to creating an equitable distribution of affordable housing citywide. Prior to joining Chicago’s Department of Housing, Ricardo was a Senior Planner at the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, where he led and contributed to the development of over 25 local and regional plans. Ricardo holds a B.A. in sociology and Spanish from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a master’s degree in urban planning and policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
