Female Road Constructors Get Insider View of O'Hare International
On September 12, Women Road Builders (WRB) members and their associates embarked on a remarkable journey with an exclusive insider tour of O'Hare International Airport, a bustling hub known for its global traffic.
During the tour, participants explored the vast 7,200-acre airport grounds by bus, with stops at significant locations. They engaged with airport personnel at cargo loading zones, visited a materials testing laboratory, witnessed fire department training activities, and received insights into ongoing construction initiatives, including a close-up view of an airport runway.
This exceptional experience was made possible thanks to the support of Chicago Department of Aviation Commissioner Jamie Rhee, whose assistance was crucial in organizing the event.
"What an incredible day at the O'Hare Airfield Bus Tour," WRB leadership expressed to members following the event. "From intimate views of runway action to insights into airport operations, it was truly an unforgettable experience. Huge thanks to the Chicago Department of Aviation and Commissioner Jamie Rhee for making it all happen."
